How this website handles personal data. Last updated: 3 October 2026.
1. Who is responsible
Valeska Jansen, Zürich, Switzerland
E-mail: valeska@jansen.press
2. Principles
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We only process the data needed for the purposes described below.
This website uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking tools and no embedded third-party content. Fonts, images and scripts are loaded from our own server only. We make no automated individual decisions and do no profiling.
3. Visiting the website (server logs)
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Strasse 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you visit, the server automatically records technical data in log files:
- IP address of the requesting device (stored by IONOS in anonymised form)
- date and time of access
- requested page or file and amount of data transferred
- referring website
- browser and operating system
This data is used solely to operate the website securely and reliably and to analyse errors. It is not combined with other data. IONOS deletes the log files after eight weeks at the latest.
4. Contact form and e-mail
If you contact us via the contact form or by e-mail, we process the data you provide: your name, e-mail address and message. Form data is transmitted in encrypted form (HTTPS) to our web server at IONOS SE in Germany and sent from there via IONOS's mail service to valeska@jansen.press. This mailbox is operated by Microsoft as part of Microsoft 365 (contracting party for Europe: Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, Dublin, Ireland).
We use this data only to answer your enquiry. It is not shared with third parties. We delete enquiries no later than two years after the last contact, unless they are business correspondence, which we keep for ten years under Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations.
5. Legal bases (where the GDPR applies)
We process server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the website securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and enquiries via the contact form or e-mail to answer them or to prepare a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
6. Links to social networks and other websites
This website contains ordinary links to LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and to publications on other websites. They are plain links, not plugins: no data is transmitted to these services when you visit our pages. Only when you click a link and open the other website does its operator process your data, under its own privacy policy.
7. Transfers abroad
The website is hosted in Germany (IONOS SE); according to the Swiss Federal Council, Germany provides an adequate level of data protection. E-mails, including messages from the contact form, are stored in Microsoft 365. Microsoft processes this data mainly in the EU/EEA, but access from or processing in the USA and other countries cannot be ruled out. Microsoft is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the Swiss Federal Council recognises as providing an adequate level of protection, and also uses standard contractual clauses. This website does not load content from third-party providers.
8. Your rights
Within the scope of applicable data protection law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have incorrect data corrected, to have your data deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive your data or have it transferred. To exercise these rights, contact us at the e-mail address in section 1.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), www.edoeb.admin.ch, and, where the GDPR applies, the data protection authority of your country of residence in the EU/EEA.
9. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The whole website is only available over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
10. Changes
We may update this privacy policy at any time. The version published on this website applies.
